Check out our moth product page in order not to fail when removing your household moth problems. Below is a number of other methods to help to keep moths away:

Clothing Moths


Dry Cleaning

Moths enjoy moisture, so not only will regular dry cleaning kill the moth but it will also help to deter them form attacking the fabric or garment in the future.

Vacuuming

Moths often like to hide in carpet areas which collect dust; vacuuming is an important course of action in helping to eradicate cloths moths. Make sure you promptly throw away any vacuum bag or dust after use, as the moth eggs may hatch in the bag. Make sure you clean all carpeted areas that may gather dust.

Heat

Temperatures higher than *50 degrees for over 30 minutes should kill moths. Washing garments at a high temperature may make this achievable.

Dry ice fumigation

Is known to kill all stages of the moth cycle by starving them of carbon dioxide but can be highly expensive and impractical for most households!

DO NOT USE INSECTICIDE SPRAYS around clothes; some insecticides will damage clothes especially silks so be careful when using and read any manufacturers instructions.


Food Moths


Sealed containers

Whilst food moths can get into very small spaces air tight containers should normally prevent them from getting into your food.

Cleaning

After finding a food moth in your cupboard ensure you find the source and particularly the larvae. Eradicating the Larvae will eradicate the immediate problem. However because of the small size and difficulty of seeing and finding the larvae ensure that you leave the Zensect Food Moth traps up all year round and replace when necessary.

Infested food

Whilst you may only see the problem in one of the food areas, ensure all
non-sealed food in the area is thrown away promptly.
